On Sat 25th November the Zug U16 squad travelled down to Lugano. Lugano Rugby club always warmly welcome Zug and offered us their usual fantastic hospitality.

The game itself was a high scoring game which resulted in Zug winning 73-38. The team played to a new strategy we've been working on and it worked very well. However Lugano had some big and fast players who were able to penetrate our defences and scored more points than we were happy with. Like every game there are lessons to learn.

The Zug U10 & U12 squads had a tournament in Lugano on the Sunday but the squads travelled down on the Saturday to support the U16 game. The players formed a tunnel at the beginning and end of the match for the U16's and together with their parents offered fantastic support during the match. Lugano worked hard to cater for everyone offering pasta dishes and pulled pork rolls. It was a great afternoon of rugby and socialising.

That same evening, all 3 age groups headed back to the hotel in the city before dispersing to different restaurants for squad&parent dinners. After dinner everyone gathered in the hotel bar for an evening of socialising including a rugby themed pub quiz with Zug rugby themed prices. It was a night to remember, everyone had a great time and had that familiar special Zug Rugby Club feel to the occasion.

Everyone is already excited about the next weekend away to Geneva in Spring 2024. This is how Zug Rugby Club rolls.
